At the same time, due to the working hours, many "owls" have to get up quite early.

However, their chronotypes does not change, which in addition leads to a reduction in sleep duration. The consequence is that people start to consume calories and gain weight. This was done after a survey of 2,360 young people. Specialists included the sunrise and sunset times, the duration of the day, the body mass index (BMI) of volunteers.

"The results indicate that some of the characteristics of the rhythm of sleep in people with symptoms of depression and nutritional dependence are similar, but that there are differences between the two with regard to sleep. The later the interviewees went to bed and the later the sun came up, the greater the likelihood of poor mental health and overeating. Those who miss breakfast and consume most of the afternoon’s diet are at risk of obesity and metabolic syndrome. Similar but more pronounced side effects have been observed in night shift workers who are forced to eat in the dark", according to the expert report.
