      Analysis of the effectiveness of tear-relief drugs in patients suffering from «dry eye» syndrome (DES).

      One hundred patients diagnosed with DES were examined:

Group 1 - 33 persons: 13 men and 20 women with mild DES, with low viscosity drugs;

Group II - 33 persons: 13 men and 20 women, with medium-grade DES, with moderate-viscosity drugs;

Group 3 - 34 people: 14 men and 20 women with high-level DES, who were treated with high viscosity.

      The results of the treatment were evaluated a month later on the basis of complaints, objective examination data and indicators of functional samples.

      The best results of the treatment were recorded in Group 3, where the rate of tear excision (Schirmer’s test) increased, the patients in question showed a decrease in the complaints (discomfort, eye fatigue, fatigue when working with text, redness of eyes, tearing, burning and rubber in eyes).

      The improvement of subjective sensations and objective study data in patients of all three groups is a consequence of an adequate selection of tear-treated drugs of a certain degree of viscosity according to the severity of the DES. We note from the study that tear-relief drugs are effective in use, accessible, effective and relieve eye condition.
