A study conducted by researchers from Queen Mary University of London and funded by the Barts Charity will use high doses of vitamin D. Thus, the purpose of the experiment will be to study the relationship between vitamin intake and the formation of body resistance to coronavirus infection. In short, the reactivity of the immune system of a person using vitamin D in the fight against invading infectious agents will be evaluated.

Principal Investigator David Jolliffe noted that the trial "may provide a definitive answer" to the question of the positive effects of vitamin D on a coronavirus patient. Therefore, he recommends the use of vitamin D as a dietary supplement, especially in winter, and also to vulnerable groups such as the elderly; overweight persons; blacks and Asians, that is, the contingent with a probable vitamin deficiency.
