Every day the number of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus is growing steadily. Various factors can contribute to the development of this disease: lifestyle, diet, concomitant diseases, and heredity. Therefore, the issue of diagnosis at an early stage of the disease is not in the last place.

The journal Nature Medicine contains information according to which American scientists have developed a new way of recognizing a disease. This method is called photoplethysmography and is based on the indication of the skin color of the finger corresponding to the beats of the heart. It was called a "digital biomarker" that works on "vascular signals." Using this method, scientists have compiled a deep neural network, the vascular effects of which correspond to the development of diabetes.

Unfortunately, the consequences of a disease such as diabetes mellitus are very severe and can include both purulent infectious processes on the skin and extremities due to excess glucose in the blood, and disorders of the cardiovascular, urinary and digestive systems. Scientists and doctors all over the world, for the purpose of timely diagnosis and prevention, urge the population to eat healthy food, engage in physical culture and undergo regular medical examinations.
