The head of the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin, issued a statement on approval of the introduction of a domestic vaccine called "Sputnik-V". Vaccination of the population is predicted for October this year, however, the World Health Organization is concerned about such an early date and, as a result, safety for the country's population. At the moment, negotiations are underway between Russia and the WHO, since the Sputnik-V vaccine is not in the list of six that have passed the third phase of clinical trials.

Vladimir Putin also added that one of his daughters received the vaccine, who had a slight increase in body temperature after vaccination.

This vaccine "Sputnik-V" was developed by the Moscow Institute of Gamaley and induces stable immunity, it contains strains of adenovirus. The reason for such an unusual name for the vaccine is the fact that its invention was comparable to a real race in space.

The Association of Clinical Research Organizations (Acto), representing the world's leading pharmaceutical companies in Russia, suggested that the country's health care postpone the introduction of vaccination to citizens and await approval of the successful completion of the third phase of clinical trials. Unfortunately, the rapid pace of vaccine development does not mean that it is highly effective. First of all, you need to be confident in the safety and quality of production.
