British Ambassador to the EU Tim Barrow explains the refusal to vaccinate the UK by the fact that after its consent in the future, the country will not have the right to vote in deciding on the cost of drugs or negotiating with manufacturers.

Under the agreement to ensure the supply of vaccines under the program, the Commission will pay the manufacturer the initial costs.

“Limiting the EU Vaccine Initiative on the number of doses received by member countries is the best way to ensure that countries in greatest need have enough vaccines,” said Wellcome Trust's head of global policy.

At the moment, about 200 groups are working in the world to create a vaccine against Covid-19, 18 of which are conducting clinical trials in humans.
