In order to start infertility treatment, it is necessary to identify the cause using various methods for diagnosing "non-onset" pregnancy, including contrast x-ray diagnostics, ultrasound and laparoscopy. In the course of observations of women who passed such studies, the onset of pregnancy was noted after 3-6 months. It also became a question of which contrast agent to use, water-soluble or fat-soluble? In addition, this study in rare cases has a non-lethal consequence, such as intravasation (reverse injection of a contrast agent into the blood or lymph). However, this consequence, in most cases, is asymptomatic.
This study was conducted according To the Cochrane group's specialized register of controlled trials in gynecology and reproductive medicine, MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL, PsycINFO, lists of literature on identified articles, and the test registry.
Thus, it is concluded that compared with no treatment, tubal lavage with fat-soluble contrast agents (OSCM) may increase the likelihood of live birth and clinical pregnancy, while it is unclear whether tubal lavage with water-soluble (WSCM) improves these results.
