The riddle of the immune system's response to coronavirus

What determines the immune response to an embedded coronavirus infection?

The study of the immune system's response to the introduction of coronavirus infection plays an important role in the fight against this disease, says the New UK Coronavirus Immunology Consortium (UK-CIC).

According to Professor Mala Maini, a viral immunologist at University College London (who leads one of the UK-CIC teams), the immune system is at the heart of everything that is key to the formation of an immune response to the introduction of viral particles.

A few days ago, a case of re-infection with a coronavirus infection was recorded in Hong Kong, which naturally had a negative impact on the immunity of the sick.

At the moment, scientists are faced with another equally important question: is infection with other strains of the coronavirus capable of protecting against infection with Covid-19 or is it in a milder form? What is the reason for re-infection and how will it proceed in contrast to the first? Perhaps re-infection is not significant, unlike the first, since the body is already familiar with the pathogen. These and other questions are of interest to scientists at research institutes around the world.
