The essence of lung neoplasm diagnostics is electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy. When scanning, a GPS map is created, where a three-dimensional image of the lungs is visualized. In addition, the technology allows catheterization in places that are difficult to access for conventional bronchoscopy.

This study was conducted at Glan Clwid Hospital, Denbigshire, Wales, UK. The first patient to find out about her illness in the early stages was 74-year-old Anne Bedford. She was diagnosed with cancer at a very early stage, when she did not need to receive chemotherapy, but only needed a short course of radiation therapy.

This diagnosis has become a real revolutionary discovery in the study of lung cancer, since in most cases this disease is recognized only in its late stages, when no treatment has the desired therapeutic effect. The study's authors argue that now patients with respiratory diseases, in particular those with lung cancer, will be granted many years of healthy life.
