In the country, this is the 11th outbreak of a potentially deadly virus that is transmitted by biological fluids and has a mortality rate of 25% to 90%.

The country is struggling not only with COVID-19 and the largest outbreak of measles, but also continues to withstand the long and complex outbreak of Ebola in eastern Congo. For this country, measles was the most serious infection, which has infected nearly 370,000 people and killed 6,779 people since 2019, compared with coronavirus infection, which has lower rates of infection and mortality in this country.

WHO claims that the Ebola virus lives in the body of bats, so re outbreaks of this infection in the country can be expected.

The largest Ebola epidemic was in 2014–2016 in West African countries. As a result of this epidemic, more than 28,000 people became infected, and more than 11,000 of them died.
