Since the start of the pandemic, the SARS-CoV-2 gene has been highly mutated and varieties of it have been tracked now. Combining the types of genomes into clonal groups will make it possible to predict the further spread of the virus and identify its probable mutations, which can be even more dangerous.

Researchers have also identified a relationship between a geographic factor and a specific genome of the virus. Thus, the genomes of the CC256 group are most common in the USA, CC258 in the USA and Europe, and CC800 in the Middle East. It is assumed that this algorithm will help in predicting the further appearance of the virus, it’s tracking, and further mutation.

“The situation with the spread of coronavirus is improving only in Europe” said Tedros Adan Gebreyesus, the General-Director of WHO. Over the past two days, more than 136 thousand new cases registered in the world per day, most of them in America and South Asia. Also, an increase in the incidence observed in Africa, regions of Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and the total number of cases of COVID-19 infection in the world exceeded seven million.
