The difference between eastern traditional medicine and western

Chinese (Tibetan) medicine is the longest and continuous medical system that successfully serves the largest population in the world with a high level of civilization for more than 5000 years. Health in Chinese is the body's ability to quickly adapt to rapidly changing environmental conditions (maintain balance and integrity). Diseases are caused by the inability to adapt to any condition, while the body's defenses are weakening, reserves are running out, and numerous adverse factors interact with each other.

The concept of "Oriental medicine" is defined as the "science of health", and "Western medicine" is defined as the "science of disease"

Doctors of Tibetan medicine see a person as a complex, an indivisible whole, an integral part of the Universe, functioning according to its laws (a microcosm in the macrocosm of the Universe, which has energetic effects on a person), and not separate organs. Therefore, Tibetan, Chinese medicine does not recognize the narrow specialization of doctors. The human body is a complex self-regulating system that is in dynamic balance with the outside world. Traditional Eastern medicine is characterized by the consideration of the human body as a whole, and the diagnosis is carried out in accordance with this integrity. Tibetan (Chinese) medicine seeks to maintain health and prevent disease.

In modern Western European medicine, the prevailing attitude is on pharmacological preparations (chemicals that are not found in the human body) that have a rather coarse biological effect on the body. This can give brilliant results in the treatment of emergency conditions, when urgent correction of impaired functions is required. With prolonged use, such chemical compounds lead to the blocking of metabolic processes and the emergence of a "drug disease" in many patients. Currently, mortality from complications and side effects of drugs is in fourth place in the world.

Thus, a significant difference between Eastern medicine and Western European is that Eastern medicine reveals the causes, while Western European treats the symptoms.
