The controversy between the difference in the cost of conventional test strips and electronic pregnancy tests led to an experiment on the latter. The researchers decided to figure out what is inside the electronic test. Regular and cheap test strips show one or two strips, and electronic tests: the words "pregnant", "not pregnant". So is it worth overpaying the amount four times, just for the sake of a verbal explanation?

Researcher Fone experimented with the Walmart Equate digital pregnancy test. After opening the device inside, he found an ordinary test strip and an electronic device that reads information and displays a word on the screen. However, according to Vittorio Saggiomo, associate professor of the Department of Bionanotechnology, not everyone can interpret the test strips: the second one seems pale or invisible to someone, and, as a result, the result of pregnancy is negative or vice versa. On the other hand, tech journalist Keith Bevan called electronic tests unnecessary: why such costs and extra devices?

In addition, there was controversy on Twitter about the desiccant pill included in the electronic tests. Some wrote that it was an emergency contraception for oral use, while others believed that it absorbs urine, after which the latter becomes toxic. As a result, the latter turned out to be right - this is really a pill that absorbs urine.

The market provides us with a fairly large selection of pregnancy tests, varying in both price and quality. Which one to buy for complete confidence in pregnancy or lack thereof is the right of every woman.
