A completely new test system was delivered to Kazakhstan to determine coronavirus through human respiration

"Artificial sniffer" was created in the Finnish capital laboratory under the guidance of professor Risto Orava.

It promises to be the fastest and the cheapest way to diagnose the new coronavirus in the world: the device detects the SARS-CoV-2 in 3-4 exhales, and its value is estimated at between 5 and 6 euros.

Testing will begin in a few days in one of the hospitals of Nur-Sultan, where 400 volunteers will additionally undergo traditional PCR testing for accuracy. The same experiment is being conducted in the USA, Brazil and the Netherlands, and has already ended in Finland.

"Every disease has its own smell. The air mass exhaled by a person contains VOCs - volatile organic compounds that are formed as a result of all physiological processes in our body”, - explains young scientist Bakhtiar Azhken.

“The use of artificial intelligence in identifying coronavirus may be a revolutionary tool in the fight against the pandemic! The entire population of Kazakhstan can be tested in two weeks. At the same time, let’s calculate: the cost of testing will be insignificant compared to large-scale measures to combat the virus”, - says Christian Teider, founder of the Private Research University UATL in Helsinki, who provided a platform for the development of this test system.
