The Journal of Thoracic Oncology published a report on the use of aspirin, statins and metformin in the fight against the development of lung cancer and reducing mortality from it.
The experiment involved about 700 thousand Koreans, followed by doctors for 10 years (from January 2004 to December 2013). Then this number of patients was divided into 8 groups to monitor the results of the applied therapy. As a result, it turned out that the group using the combination of three drugs gave the greatest positive effect, accounting for 3.4 percent of the entire cohort.
Thus, it was found that long-term use of aspirin, statins and metmorphine significantly increases the chances of patients for a successful outcome of the disease.
In short, without using complex medical terms, the mechanism of action of this positive effect is the suppression of several molecular pathways for the growth and reproduction of tumor cells. Therefore, this fact can be considered a proven method in the fight against lung cancer.
